Papmochani Ekadashi Vrat is an extremely auspicious day for the devotees following the Hindu religion. Story Of Papmochani Ekadashi Vrat
Once the son of sage Chyavana,Medhavi was doing Tapasya (meditation) in a forest. He observed the meditation for years due to which the throne of Lord Indra shook. Fearing premonition, Lord Indra sent forth a fairy called Manjughosha to destroy the meditation of sage Medhavi. The stunning beauty of the fairy bewitched Medhavi, who then broke off his meditation and started to live with the fairy. After some months of living together with Medhavi, the fairy asked him to permit her to leave. Then Medhavi came to his sense, realizing that the fairy was responsible for prompting him to end his meditation. Enraged by her deed, Medhavi cursed the fairy to become an imp. The fairy got scared of the curse and pleaded to sage Madhavi for forgiveness, explaining to him that she was just following the instructions of Lord Indra. After she pleaded for forgiveness for several times with folded hands and tears in eyes, the sage Medhavithen advised her to observe Papmochani Ekadashi Vrat due to which his curse will be uplifted. The fairy followed his advice attentively and observed the ritual devotionally. Later, she was cured of the curse of the sage due to the miracle of Papmochani Ekadashi vrat.
